Ask for help
You don’t have to carry it all
Pick something that feels heavy and someone who could take it, and we’ll help you word the ask. You send it yourself, if and when you want to. Taegyo never contacts anyone.
Your message
Asking for help is part of Taegyo. A supported mother is part of the baby’s first environment.
For partners
What helps most
- Take full charge of one household task, instead of helping when asked.
- Protect her time to eat, sleep and rest.
- Come to check-ups when you can, and keep a shared list of questions.
- Talk, read or sing to the baby in your ordinary voice.
- Share the load of worry. Don’t police her feelings.
For grandparents and older children
Everyone can be part of the welcome
- Grandparents: share one family story or blessing for the baby, and offer practical help before advice.
- Older children: invite, never insist. Reading a favourite book to the bump or choosing between two blankets is plenty.
- Keep one-to-one time with the older child. “A new baby changes our family, but you do not lose your place in it.”
